FAQs
Who are you and why are you doing this?
My name is Brad, and this is just one more step in my plan for total world domination.
Are you a pilot?
The card in my wallet says I am, but sometimes I wonder. Yes, I am an instrument rated private pilot with tailwheel and high performance endorsements. You can read a little bit more about me on the
About page.
Can you recommend a good flight planning app?
In the spirit of objectivity and transparency I am trying to be as app neutral as possible and will not make any recommendations. I'll tell you what's available, then you have to make the decision whether to buy it or not.
What apps do you use?
You'll have to pry my iPhone from my cold lifeless hand to find out, but please don't try this.
Does the site cost me anything?
Nope, nada, zilch! The site is free of charge and you pay nothing extra when you purchase an app.
Can you notify me as new apps are added to the list?
Yes, just subscribe to the news feed over on
http://news.aviatorapps.com. Subscriptions are available via RSS feed, email, or for a small monthly fee, carrier pidgeon.
How do you get credit for the apps that I buy?
The NSA will monitor all of your app purchases, emails, phone calls, and flight activity and will report them to me. But don't worry they have a pretty good privacy policy.
Do you work for any app developers?
Work for those geeks, no way!
Do you have plans to develop your own app?
Dammit Jim, I'm a pilot not a developer. I do have an idea, but I will probably look to partner with a developer if I want to have it built.
What's with the ads?
Somebody has to pay the bills! Running a web site costs a few bucks and my goal is to at least have the site pay for itself. If there's any left over after expenses and taxes, it will go towards the construction of
my RV-7.
I am an app developer, can I advertise on your site?
I am an app developer; if I give you a free copy of my app will you post a review?
While I am not going to turn down an offer of free apps, I have yet to decide whether or not I will be writing reviews. Why not? Simply because so many of the so-called review sites are completely bogus. They simply trade a good reviews for free product(s), and I don't want to this to be one of those sites. At some point in the future I will probably incorporate user reviews or ratings into the site, but for the time being we will just have to rely on iTunes.
What do you know about the next version of the iPhone?
I know it will contain a micro-nuclear-reactor and will run for months without the need for recharging. In addition, I've heard it will have some sort of neural-navigation feature where it will have the ability to dial phone numbers, send emails, browse the internet, and navigate through applications simply by reading your thoughts. I'll be upgrading the day it's released? I can't wait!
